Environmental Health Reviewer (Open Recruitment)
Last reviewed: May 2026
Current status
This reviewer position is currently open. We are actively recruiting.
We are actively recruiting an Environmental Engineer or Toxicologist with water quality expertise to serve as the independent technical reviewer for PFASFilterGuide.com.
Until that recruitment is complete, all regulatory and health content on this site is verified directly against:
- EPA.gov for all PFAS regulations and MCLs
- NSF International certification database for all filter performance claims
- USGS publications for groundwater quality and geology data
- EWG research database for health guideline comparisons
- ATSDR toxicological profiles for PFAS health effects information
What we are looking for
We are looking for a credentialed professional to review articles before publication and flag any claims that need correction or additional sourcing. This is a part-time paid role, not a full-time position.
Ideal background includes:
- Environmental engineering, environmental science, or toxicology degree (BS or higher)
- Experience with drinking water quality, PFAS contamination, or groundwater assessment
- Familiarity with EPA Safe Drinking Water Act regulations and NSF certification programs
- State or professional certification a plus (PE, CIH, CHMM, or similar)
What the role involves
Reviewers read draft articles before publication and verify that regulatory claims, health guidance, and technical statements are accurate and properly sourced. They flag anything that needs correction or clarification.
We publish roughly 4 to 8 new articles per month. Review time per article is typically 30 to 60 minutes. This role is compensated per article reviewed.
